Golfer struck by lightning at Tanah Merah Country Club

A golfer was struck by lightning at the Tanah Merah Country Club on Sunday morning, just as he neared the end of an 18-hole game.
The skies had only just turned a little dark and the club had contacted the Meteorological Services to check whether lightning was likely when the 57-year-old was hit.
Mr Soh Lye Huat, a garment company owner, is now in a coma in intensive care at Changi General Hospital.

A 37-year-old eye doctor died on Saturday in a diving accident off Pulau Aur, Malaysia.
Dr Marcus Lim was an avid photographer, and a very experienced diver, according to friends Channel NewsAsia spoke to. The Singapore National Eye Centre, where he worked, said the doctor was a promising registrar in ophthalmology and a young aspiring clinician-scientist, who was awarded the National Medical Research Council fellowship just this year.
In a statement, the centre's Medical Director, Professor Donald Tan, said the centre shares this loss with his family. Dr Lim leaves behind his wife and a young son.
Unfortunate accidents may occur to anyone. Don't depart without leaving anything for your loved ones. At least they don't have to agonize for the remaining of their lives, thinking of how to fend for themselves when you are gone.
